DYK: Your Organization can Become a Host Site for the Maryland Corps or Maryland Service Year Option

Nonprofits, government agencies, and businesses of all sizes are able to be Host Site Partners for the Maryland Corps and Maryland Service Year Option programs. This is a unique opportunity to boost your organization’s capacity beyond existing apprenticeships, access motivated talent, and contribute to Maryland’s workforce development.

Key Facts for Host Sites

  • Application Deadline: June 15, 2025. Applications received after this date will be waitlisted and considered as space allows.

  • Program Duration: September 10, 2025 – June 23, 2026 (at least 9 months, full-time 40 hours/week).

  • Funding Support: Host sites receive financial assistance to help support the inclusion of Members in your organization.

  • Cost-Sharing: All organizations can participate, with cost-sharing goals to ensure broad access. Details are available from the Department of Service and Civic Innovation.

  • Member Compensation: You must pay members at least $15/hour (approximately $600/week) plus benefits, and the state will provide a $6,000 completion award as a cash stipend directly to the member.

  • Training and Development: Members receive professional development, on-the-job training, mentorship, and career coaching from DSCI.

  • Expand Your Impact Host sites gain access to a statewide network of organizations and can increase their capacity to serve Maryland communities.

  • Participate in a program that aligns with state workforce priorities, offers a direct pipeline to Department of Labor-recognized apprenticeships and diversifies the types of apprentices you can hire.

Who Can Apply?

Any nonprofit, government agency, or business in Maryland is eligible. The program seeks a diverse cohort of Host Site Partners that reflects the state’s communities and industries.
