MWA Board Chair, Jennifer Dewees, honored AT maryland’s Top 100 women Event
The Daily Record’s Annual event recognizes high-achieving Maryland women who are making an impact through their leadership, community service and mentoring. Winners are selected by past Top 100 Women and business leaders. Jenn certainly exemplifies all of these values in her leadership, impacting the lives of Marylanders and strengthening our workforce.
“‘While this work is just getting started, it has been my most proud accomplishment to date, as I truly believe that access to apprenticeships will be the great equalizer for all Marylanders,' Dewees said regarding her work with the Maryland Apprenticeship Connector (MAC), which she co-founded in 2023.
Dewees earned her bachelor’s degree in communications with a minor in sociology from Loyola University Maryland and studied construction management at the Community College of Baltimore County. Her career spans roles at prominent companies, including Barton Malow Co., The Whiting-Turner Contracting Co. and Plano-Coudon LLC.
Beyond her leadership at MCCEI, Dewees chairs the Maryland Workforce Alliance and serves on multiple boards, including the National Association of Women in Construction's Baltimore chapter since 2010 and the Morgan State University Construction Management Advisory Board.
'I have mentored and been mentored many times in my career, but I am making a concerted effort to take one step further and become a sponsor,' Dewees said, describing her commitment to advocating for women in the construction field.” The Daily Record
